The Tele Breaks Out The Hysteria

The DT is at it again stirring up anti-Muslim hysteria.

This time they have created a story out of nothing...the story was titled Halal is pie in the sky at Harry's and can be found at this link:

Here is what Michael Hannah from Harry’s had to say:

Dear Moustapha,

I think it is important for you to know that this issue was not raised by me as a means to gain publicity for Harry’s. I was contacted by the Daily Telegraph at 4pm Monday and out of the blue, asked if we would be going Halal.

Given the diversity of Sydney and Australia for that matter, it would be silly for me to try and gain publicity by alienating a particular group of people, many of which are already customers of Harry’s.

We receive numerous requests for various products including gluten free, vegan, organic, Kosher, Halal and the list goes on. In short, we can’t please everyone and we’ve never tried to.

The press has decided to make an issue of why we don’t have Halal and have tried to make it look like we are intentionally trying to do something to exclude customers when in reality, we are running the business the same way it has been run for over 50 years. It is no coincidence that this article was placed on the same page with a banner including it with another potentially disruptive article.

If you read between the lines of this article and look at what I am quoted as saying you will see that I am trying not to add to hysteria but run Harry’s the way it has always been run.
